Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting four ballplayers dressed in full uniform along with two gentlemen dressed in formal attire. Production credit on back to "Kodak Mexicana Ltd.". The Tampico Alijadores baseball club was one of the premier professional baseball clubs playing in Mexico during the 1940's. While we have not been able to identify the ballplayers pictured here, one of them appears to be presenting his cap (and possibly signing it as well) to an adoring fan. All four corners of the postcard exhibit paper loss from scrapbook removal along with moderate foxing on front. Divided postcard back remains blank and unused with scattered lt. staining throughout. EKC stamp box dates the postcard to around 1941 which is consistent with the subject matter. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
