Item Description
8x10" vintage matte photo depicting 12 ballplayers in full uniform along with three gentlemen dressed in casual attire posed on a ballfield with Coca-Cola scoreboard sign and period automobiles visible in the background. We have been unable to ascertain the origins of this ball club with a "DD" logo on their uniforms, most likely, a group of local or semi-pro black ballplayers barnstorming and taking on all comers in their U.S. region. This would certainly make for a very interesting research project with the potential for a nice reward. Image quality of the photo is superb. Three small lt. brown circular spots are present on front, back of photo contains remnants of paper removal. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
