Nicknamed "Bucketfoot Al," he played MLB for two decades as an outfielder and had his best years w/Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics 1924-1932, 1940-1941 and 1944, winning two World Series. Simmons also played for the Chicago White Sox (1933-1935), Detroit Tigers (1936), Washington Senators (1937-1938), Boston Braves (1939), Cincinnati Reds (1939) and Boston Red Sox (1943). After his playing career ended, he served as a coach for the Athletics and Cleveland Indians. Simmons was elected to the National Baseball HOF in 1953. Simmons has signed in black ink on his leg. Text below image reads "Al Simmons, Star Outfielder Of The Athletics, Who Hit .364 In The World's Series." Margin trim and scattered handling wear w/two tiny tears to bottom right margin.
