Item Description
Original box w/illustrated lid contains 7-3/8" long tin litho friction car w/dimensional driver arms and torso w/soft vinyl head. Made in Japan by Tada Factory, 1960s. Box features portraits of Osamu Tezuka's iconic manga character Mighty Atom (Astro Boy's name in Japan) as well as illustration of the enclosed toy. Box is complete w/cardboard head insert and Mushi Productions foil label w/Mighty Atom image on box interior, which shows some wear. Box is evenly aged. Lid has scattered creases and corner tip wear. Fine. Toy has Mighty Atom image on sides of car. Friction action works, causing Mighty Atom's head to turn from left to right as siren noise is produced. Trunk has some paint scratches and plated grille and headlights/tail lights show some aging but o/w toy is VF. Rare as boxed. Old store stock.
