Item Description
Original box w/illustrated lid contains 9" long tin litho wind-up boat w/built-in crank. Made in Japan by Tada Factory, 1960s. Box features illustration of Osamu Tezuka's iconic manga character Mighty Atom (Astro Boy's name in Japan) and his sister Uran in "Ocean Pet" boat. Box is evenly aged and show obvious wear, w/1.75x2" V-shaped piece missing at one lid corner and corresponding 1.5" tear to bottom part of box. VG. Toy has Mighty Atom portrait on bow and additional small image as well as Tada Factory name/logo at back corner. Manual rudder and working propeller drive. Some factory paint touch-ups to edges and underside, not distracting. Soft vinyl head has some staining to neck and metal area surrounding it. Boat shows some lt. scattered wear and is Fine overall.
