Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box w/lidded Styrofoam insert/cover contains Deluxe 7" tall painted die-cast metal and plastic figure, complete w/all accessories and papers. Made in Japan for the Japanese market by Popy, 1980. Of note, box features "Tetsuzin-28" name instead of Tetsujin-28 but still an official release. Box shows scattered wear and Styrofoam insert has melt to cover. VF. Comes w/illustrated instruction sheet and Popy flyer/booklet advertising Popy toys for other Japanese properties (including Super Sentai, Ultraman and Kamen Rider). Figure is complete w/both sets of fists that can be fired from spring-loaded wrists, separate missile-firing jetpack, mechanical gantry used to load jetpack an small, sealed plastic bag containing missiles and additional head crest/axe weapon. Pop-out leg section to contain small plastic figures of Shotaro Kaneda and robot (which have melted into Styrofoam). Figure also features hidden missile-launching feature in chest. Aside from mentioned issue w/Shotaro and robot figures, set is NM. Instructions show wear and are Fine/VF. Popy flyer/booklet is Exc. Wonderfully detailed set.
