Item Description
3-3/8"x5-3/8" vintage matte postcard depicting 10 ballplayers in full uniform along with two gentlemen dressed in formal attire posed on a ballfield with period baseball equipment in the foreground. Caption at bottom of photo reads "W & L Baseball Club - Pennant Winners of 1906 Williams Valley League. We have been unable to find any info indicating that this team/league was on a professional level so we are assuming that they were a semi-pro, town ball club that would take on all comers in the local central PA area. Postcard exhibits lt., even corner wear, undivided postcard back remains blank and unused with some lt. foxing around the edges. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
