Item Description
3.5"x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 14 ballplayers in full uniform along with two gentlemen dressed in formal attire posed on a ballfield in front of stadium seating. Printer's credit on back reads "The Roller Printing and Paper Co., Canton, Ohio-No. 6". All players are identified by last name and position on the field below photo. The 1906 Canton Chinamen finished in third place in the Class B Central League with a final record of 85-63 under manager Bade Myers. A total of four ballplayers from this club would go on to play in the Major Leagues with the most prominent being Fred Osborn. Postcard exhibits a bit of lt. staining in a couple of spots, back of postcard remains blank and postally unused with a few scuff marks visible. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
