Item Description
3.5"x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 15 ballplayers in full uniforms along with two gentlemen dressed in formal attire. All team members are identified below the team picture, copyright in lower right-hand corner reads "W.G. & R.J. Thuss". The 1908 Nashville Volunteers finished in first place in the Class A Southern Association with a final record of 75-56 under manager, Bill Bernhard. The club was led by their star first baseman, Jake Daubert. Postcard exhibits some lt. staining at bottom with moderate, even corner wear along with some minor paper loss in the upper left-hand corner. Divided postcard back has been postally used with a cancellation date of September 22, 1908. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
