Item Description
3.5"x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 11 ballplayers in full uniform along with one youngster seated in front at center with period baseball equipment visible in the foreground and posed inside a studio setting. Photographer's credit in lower left-hand corner reads "Squires Photo". Postcard production credit on back in lower left-hand corner reads "Post Card Exchange, Lawrence, Kansas". Although the Haskell Indians institute was better known for their turn of the century football team, this image marks a rare display of their baseball playing counterparts. Approximately 2" red mark across the photo along with scattered foxing, particularly around the oversize borders. Divided back has been postally cancelled with a date of Sept. 13, 1911. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
