Item Description
3-3/8"x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 12 ballplayers in full uniform along with a gentlemen dressed in formal attire and mascot in front and posed on a baseball field with period equipment displayed in the foreground. We have been unable to identify this club as being professional so most likely, it was a semi-pro or town ball team taking on all comers in their local Maryland area. Image quality of this photograph is superb with creasing in a few spots visible in reflected light along with lt., even corner wear. Divided postcard back exhibits some staining in the upper left-hand corner and has been postally used with a cancellation stamp date of Oct. 5, 1909. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
