Item Description
3-3/8"x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 12 team members, including a mascot seated in front row, center, in front of period baseball equipment. All team members are identified in small print below the photo along with their positions on the ball field. We have been unable to locate any documentation that this is a professional team so, most likely, a local town baseball club, possibly located in the state of Wisconsin as that represents the origin of this postally used card. Image retains excellent clarity surrounded by an ornate frame along with a written message on the rights side of the divided front, which coincides with the additional message on back. Postcard exhibits lt. corner wear with postal cancellation on back dated July 31, 1909. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
