3-3/8"x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 18 ballplayers in full uniform with all individuals identified above/below their respective images. Copyright identifies "J.M. Colby, Wausau" in the upper right-hand corner. The 1914 Wausau Lumberjacks finished in last place in the Class C Wisconsin-Illinois League with a final record of 39-82 under manager George Bubser. The only ballplayer to make the Major Leagues from this squad was star slugger, Hack Miler, who enjoyed a six year stint with the Chicago Cubs during the 1920s and amazingly finished his MLB career with a .323 batting average. Image clarity of the team photo is superb with lt., even corner wear. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
