Item Description
3.5"x5.5" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 15 ballplayers in full uniform posed in front of stadium seating with a capacity crowd in the background. Copyright credit in bottom right-hand corner reads "Northern Photo Company". The 1910s Wausau Lumberjacks were one of the Wisconsin-Illinois League's most popular teams based on annual attendance figures, if not always one of the league's most successful teams on the field. Image quality of this beauty is superb with very lt. corner wear. Divided postcard back exhibits foxing around the edges and a handwritten note on left but remains postally unused. AZO stamp box on back dates the postcard to the 1904-18 period. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
