Item Description
3-3/8"x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 12 ballplayers in full uniform along with a gentleman dressed in formal attire posed in a studio setting with period baseball equipment visible in the foreground. We have been unable to find any info indicating that this team/league was on a professional level so we are assuming that they were a semi-pro, town ball club that would take on all comers in the local CT area. Image quality of the photograph is superb. Lower left-hand corner exhibits a bit of wear w/slight emulsion visible. Divided postcard back remains blank and unused. AZO stamp box dates the card to 1904-18, which is consistent with the subject matter presented. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
