Item Description
3.75" tall by 13.25" long by 3.5" wide tin litho friction bus toy w/plated roof lights, bumpers, and one of four (three missing) hubcaps. Rubber tires. Made in Japan by ATD, 1970s. Bus features "Mighty Atom" name in English on roof w/ten images overall of Osamu Tezuka's iconic manga character Mighty Atom, better known in the US as Astro Boy. Depicted bus passengers include Mighty Atom supporting characters like his sister Uran, Professor Ochanomizu, Higeoyaji and Chief Nakamura among others. Toy has circle of discoloration on roof at back from price sticker, now removed, and obvious aging to plated hubcap, roof lights and tops of bumpers. Scattered paint nicks/scratches. Friction motor unit is a bit loose but friction action still works. Still displays Fine overall.
