Item Description
1.25". Produced and distributed by Ward's bakeries, who also issued the widely popular 1947 Tip Top Bread cards."Sporties" was a food product and "Eats" endorsement notation appears below each player portrait. Set consists of: Dizzy Dean (HOF) (1/8" mark on top edge), Jimmie Dykes, Jimmie Foxx (HOF), Frank Frisch (HOF) (70% of red edge has slight darkening, shows very little), Charlie Gehringer (HOF), Charlie Grimm, Schoolboy Rowe (tiny mark top edge and two faint age dots on white bkg.) and Jimmie  Wilson (five tiny 1/16" or less scratches on top edge, barely seen). Four w/condition notes are Fine/VF and other four are Exc w/just lt. wear. All remain glossy. All scarce to rare. Early career image of Dean is the key button in the set.
