Item Description
Proposed premium design for "talking" lap puppet to be given away as premium, 1960s. Hand-cut cardboard puppet measures 9.75x19-7/8" and features original art decoration. Eyes and tiny mouth opening have been cut out and had separate cardboard appliance attached on back that allowed manipulation of eyes and mouth features. Prototype is missing snout/mouth portion and shows some wear to paint along fold lines. VG/Fine. Comes w/11x14-1/8" envelope featuring hand-lettered text and pen and ink original art of Yogi Bear at bottom left. Envelope has two small pencil notations and shows scattered dust soiling/wear w/6.5" tear at bottom right. VG. Also comes w/10.5x13.5" stiff sheet w/hand-lettered instructions for how to use puppet as well as sections w/titles addressing ventriloquist tips. First square has image of child using the puppet. Scattered aging/corner tip wear. Fine overall. One-of-a-kind piece for Hanna-Barbera collectors. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
