Item Description
Large and impressive 23.5x27.75" limited edition lithograph features art by Stephen Gardner and depicts Joe DiMaggio (1914-1999) in Yankees uniform, hitting a single in the first inning of the July 16, 1941 contest w/the Cleveland Indians at Cleveland Stadium. This hit saw DiMaggio break the MLB record for the longest hitting streak, having recorded at least one hit in 56 consecutive games. This record still stands and has been described as unbreakable. DiMaggio was elected to the National Baseball HOF in 1955. DiMaggio has boldly signed in blue felt tip pen below print's title and Gardner has signed at lower left in pencil. Lower right has hand-numbered "855/1000" edition number. Slight ripple along bottom margin, but lithograph is o/w NM. Impressive signed piece w/bold signature. Comes with Hake's COA.
