Item Description
Two adjoined artboards for overall size of 17x20-7/8" w/pen and ink original art by Gordon Purcell, inked by Arne Starr for Star Trek Vol. 2 #26, published by DC Comics Dec. 1991. Series featured the cast of the original Star Trek TV series, set during the movie years. Pages 2 and 3 have been attached w/tape at center top/bottom (as well as on back) and feature two smaller inset panels within one large image, showing the crew - Captain Kirk, Doctor McCoy, Scotty and Sulu - and story deals w/Kirk receiving "Consort Of The Ruling Ring" title in reading of a will. Inker Starr has signed in black felt tip pen at bottom right of second artboard. Each artboard has inked title, issue number, month of publication and page number at top margin. Some scattered editorial notations along margins. Backs of each have DC copyright inkstamps. Left artboard has lightly aged creator panel paste-over. Scattered aging but art o/w remains clean and VF. Very nice example of Purcell's Star Trek art.
