Item Description
7.25x10" American Airlines stationery has handwritten letter from Harvey Kurtzman (1924-1993), noted for his fine humor art done in collaboration w/Will Elder on MAD as well as for his work on various EC Comics. Kurtzman is also known for his work w/Elder on Little Annie Fanny, who appeared in over 100 issues of Playboy. Kurtzman's sketch of Little Annie Fanny appears at lower right. Letter was stamped "Received Feb. 16 1978" and expresses Kurtzman's apologies for not meeting the recipient of the latter - Charles Lippincott - who had left Lucasfilm (where he was responsible for making Star Wars the pop culture juggernaut it is today) for publicity work for films like Alien and Flash Gordon. Letter has two folds as mailed and shows some lt. scattered handling wear. VF overall. Charles Lippincott Collection.
