Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 11 team members in full uniform along with one gentleman dressed in military attire and posed in front of vegetation with period baseball equipment in the foreground. Imprinted identification at bottom of photo reads "Co. F. 1st Inf. Baseball Club 1913 Schofield Bks. H.T." The combination of baseball and military has proven to be extremely popular as it relates to vintage real photo postcards with this example originating from a Hawaiian territory and being no different. Team image on front is crystal clear with lt. even corner wear and an unused, divided back exhibiting foxing around the edges. AZO stamp box dates the postcard to 1904-18, which is consistent with the subject matter presented. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
