Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage glossy silver gelatin postcard depicting 11 team members in full uniform along with one gentleman dressed in formal attire posed inside a studio with period baseball equipment in the foreground. Imprint in upper left-hand corner reads "Winthrop Grays 1910". We have been unable to locate any professional ball club from this era hailing from Winthrop, MN so we believe this to be a town ball team, likely taking on all comers in their local area. Image quality of the photo is superb. Divided postcard back contains long handwritten message from sender along with a postal cancellation stamp dated August 18, 1910. Minor chipping visible in a few spots along edges w/moderate corner wear including lt. creasing. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
