Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 9 team members in full uniform posing on a ballfield. Identification at bottom of photo reads "Base Ball Team - C.I.S. - Chemawa, Ore.". We were unable to obtain any additional information about this club, likely a town squad taking on all comers in their local area. Divided postcard back includes handwritten message from sender as well as postal cancellation stamp dated June 22. Edges and corners exhibit moderate wear, back displays toning throughout. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
