Item Description
3.5x5-3/8" vintage matte postcard depicting 9 team members in full uniform along with one gentleman dressed informal attire and a young mascot posed on a field with period baseball equipment in the foreground along with "Coosa" identification. Print in bottom border reads "Coosa Mfg. C. Base Ball Nine 1906 of Piedmont, Ala. / Geo. E. Barlow, Publisher". We have been unable to obtain any additional information about this club, likely a company/town squad taking on all comers in their local area. Mult. Creases visible in the lower left-hand corner along with halfway up the left border and lt. staining around the edges. Moderate corner wear, undivided postcard back has been postally used with a cancellation date of December 1, 1907. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
