Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" vintage matte postcard printed on high quality photographic paper stock and depicting long-time Cuban baseball great, Salvador Hernandez. Pictured here late in his career with the Cienfuegos ball club, Hernandez also spent two seasons playing Major League baseball for the Chicago Cubs in 1942-43, finishing with a career batting average of .250. Salvador also spent many years playing professional baseball in the U.S. minor leagues as well as many winters in Cuba and Mexico. Image quality of this postcard is superb and there are no condition issues to report, divided back remains blank and unused. EKC stamp box dates the postcard to 1930-50, which is consistent with the subject matter pictured. NM. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
