Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting two Vera Cruz (Mexico) Azules teammates, including Santos Amoro standing at left, posed in front of stadium seating with baseball bats in hand. We have been unable to positively identify the other individual pictured on right. Notation below players imprinted on the postcard reads "Foto: El Tigre". Photographer's stamp on back reads "Gutierrez". Production credit on back reads "Kodak Mexicana, Ltd." Images from Mexico during the pre-war era are very scarce and the crystal clear full body poses presented here are a collector's dream. Lower half of postcard exhibits numerous creases/paper wrinkles with moderate, even corner wear. Unused, divided postcard back remains blank and exhibits evidence of scrapbook removal primarily along the top and left edges. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
