Item Description
3-3/8X5.25" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting what looks to be a professional winter league baseball player dressed in uniform w/sweater. Text on back reads "Tarjeta Postal - Union Universal de Correos (Carte postale - Union Postale Universelle)". Close-up portraits of international Winter League team members are extremely scarce, with a little research, one might be able to identify the individual pictured here, something that we have been unable to accomplish. Heavy horizontal crease crosses the entire postcard approximately one-third of the way down along with numerous other creases/surface wrinkles along with moderate, even corner wear and staining visible primarily in the upper left-hand corner. Divided postcard back remains blank and unused with areas of toning and foxing visible throughout. Good. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
