Item Description
From same rare set as previous lot. Complete w/back paper. This button features Sam Dungan "Detroit", of the Western League, the team he played for 1894-99. He led that team in batting each year and won the Western League batting title in 1899. MLB teams he also played for were the Chicago Colts, Louisville Colonels, Chicago Orphans and Washington Senators. Back paper shows only minimal aging. Small stain spot at 7 o'clock but on the rim curl, does not show from the front. Lt. surface wear mostly only seen in reflected light. Surface remains glossy and image still distinct. VF.
