Item Description
6.5x6.5x12" tall box w/original styrofoam inserts contains 10.5" tall cold-cast porcelain statue of Roy Campanella (1921-1993, HOF 1969) catching in Brooklyn Dodgers uniform. Campanella began his MLB career w/the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1948 following a storied career in the Negro Leagues, playing primarily for the Baltimore Elite Giants team during the early-mid 1940s. Campy would spend his entire 10 year MLB career w/the Dodgers and was a three-time NL MVP, finishing his career w/a batting average of .276 along w/242 home runs and 856 RBIs. Statue was released as a limited edition of 2,000 in 1990 and front of base has attached piece of card, which Campanella has hand-signed in black felt tip pen. Underside of base has brass plate w/inked "1537" edition number. Box shows scattered aging/wear and is Fine/VF overall. Statue is Exc. Signature card has scattered age spotting and is VF overall. Still a great display piece. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
