Item Description
7.25x23-1/8" artboard w/India ink original art for Oct. 28, 1958 daily strip by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould (1900-1985). Art features four panels, showing Dick Tracy and Sam Ketcham in a flooded morgue, looking at four covered corpses. Third panel shows the exposed foot of one body w/"Miss Egghead" toe tag. Tracy appears in three panels. Gould has signed second to last panel. Second panel has Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Large inked date at upper left. First panel has two small aged text paste-overs. Engraver inkstamp on back. Some staple holes along margins and scattered dust soiling, but art o/w remains clean and Exc.
