Item Description
19.25x27-5/8" artboard has had 14 individual panels attached along w/aged title stat. Art is by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould (1900-1985) and was for Jan. 11, 1959 Sunday page. Art shows Popsie realizing her mistake and ditching Headache, frantically searching for her mother. Meanwhile, Tracy consults w/medical examiner in the morgue, who reveals what appears to be an accidental drowning, was in fact murder. Last three panels show Popsie continuing her frantic search. Dick Tracy appears in last three panels, w/his shadowed profile seen in a fourth. Last panel has Gould's signature. Second panel features "Crimestoppers Textbook" tip regarding police officers hiding official stickers when doing undercover work. Partial text replacement w/resulting aging to pasted piece. Second to last panel has Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Large inked date at top left margin. Artboard that individual panels are attached to has vertical crease at center and title stat shows wear w/scattered aging. Attached artboard panels some scattered aging/dust soiling and panel lifting, but o/w art remains clean and VF/Exc.
