Item Description
7.25x23-1/8" artboard w/India ink original art for Oct. 21, 1958 daily strip by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould (1900-1985). Art features four panels, showing Wunbrow attempting to save Miss Egghead, who is unconscious and handcuffed to him. To make matters more difficult, they are stuck in the water as a hurricane rages, w/only a door offering respite. Gould has signed last panel. Second panel has Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Large inked date at upper left. First panel has blue pencil editorial note. Engraver inkstamp on back. Some staple holes along margins and scattered dust soiling, but art o/w remains clean and Exc.
