8x10" artboard features pen and ink original art by Dennis The Menace creator Hank Ketcham (1920-2001) for Aug. 7, 1951 daily strip featuring Dennis looking through photo album w/friend, noting "'I Was A Cute Little Kid, Wasn't I?'" Ketcham has signed at lower left and dated lower right. Post-Hall Syndicate, Inc. copyright strip at upper right. The Dennis The Menace strip started March 12, 1951, making this the earliest Dennis The Menace original art to come to auction. Top margin has small spot of indistinct penciling and top left corner of image are has faint 2.5" streak of glue/tape staining. Majority of image area remains clean and Exc. Wonderful early example of Ketcham's Dennis art.
