Item Description
Steve Ditko (1927-2018) was born in Johnstown, PA, where he attended Greater Johnstown High School before entering the comic book business in 1953, going on to work at Marvel Comics, helping to create Spider-Man and illustrating the early adventures of Spidey, Doctor Strange and more. Offered here is Ditko's 1945 The Spectator Senior yearbook. Ditko is pictured on page 39, noting his ambition as "Undecided." Last page has 12 vintage 1x1.75" portrait snapshots of students (Ditko is not among them) glued to page, resulting in some scattered paper loss to facing page. Clothbound hardcover has scattered aging/wear, w/some scattered soiling to front cover and corner tip wear. Pages have some scattered lt. soiling, but yearbook is Fine/VF overall. An interesting artifact for Ditko fans.
