Item Description
20-1/8x28" poster features art in style similar to that which appeared on the original Star Wars movie poster. Released in 1977, this poster shows Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia front and center, w/droids C-3PO and R2-D2 and large image of Darth Vader in bkg. Additional imagery includes X-Wing Fighters and buildings that appear to be Mos Eisley spaceport. Poster art was created by The Brothers Hildebrandt, twins noted for their fantasy and sci-fi art and poster was sold in stores at the time. This is part of a very limited edition of just 15 artist proofs that have been signed and remarqued by Greg Hildebrandt in silver paint pen, w/portraits of The Emperor at upper left, Yoda and Boba Fett at lower left and Darth Vader at lower right. Lower right also bears handwritten "13/15 AP" artist proof notation. Rolled as issued, poster has some lt. handling wear but displays Exc. w/vivid colors. An exceptional piece for Star Wars and art collectors and one that is tied directly to an artist who has been involved w/Star Wars since the start.
