Item Description
The 1907-09 American League champion Detroit Tigers are featured on this set of advertising buttons promoting Morton's Pennant Winner Bread. Made by Whitehead & Hoag and marked on rim curl. The 1.25" buttons have black & white player photos surrounded by a yellow border. A Detroit banner with tiger head superimposed is at bottom. Player names are not included anywhere on the buttons but all players have been been identified. There are 15 in the set as documented in Non-Paper Sports Collectibles by Ted Hake.

Presented here is starting pitcher, George Mullin, who led the American League in victories and winning percentage in 1909 along with league leading totals for games started, complete games and innings pitched in 1905 during his time with Detroit from 1902-13. Small trace of surface wear, mostly only seen under magnification. Still glossy, VF.
