Item Description
Set of eight CAS graded and encapsulated cases, comprising complete set of advertising campaign items used in stores to promote Kenner's first 12 Star Wars action figures, released in 1978. Double-sided 18x20.25" bell-shaped cardboard hanging sign featuring Kenner's first 12 Star Wars action figures, including the Vinyl Cape Jawa and double-telescoping varieties of Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader. Sign notes "All Figures Actual Size As Shown." Top of sign features Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia portion from Star Wars movie poster by The Brothers Hildebrandt. CAS 85. Comes w/18.25x30x1.75" deep original cardboard shipping carton w/printed "Star Wars Action Figures Mobile Display And 6 Shelf Talkers" text as well as Kenner logo and address. Inkstamp recipient name/address, noting this display was for a Sear Roebuck Co. store in Chicago, IL. Box has been encapsulated w/mounting hardware for set-up and inserts as noted on CAS label. CAS case has 3/8" crack on back at top left corner, sold as is. CAS 75. Shelf talkers each have matching "Star Wars Toy Galaxy" design. Of the "6 Shelf Talkers" mentioned on carton, all are present and each has been individually encapsulated by CAS. Grades are as follow - CAS 80, CAS 80+ (2), CAS 85+ (3). Each piece comes w/individual CAS Statement of Archival. The bell hanger display itself is hard to come by, especially in high grade such as the example offered here; but to find a complete display such as this is incredibly rare.
