Item Description
Lot of six, each is large 5.75x7" cardboard sheet w/full color art fronts, blank backs. Left margin includes company name and location "Gottmann's Chicago", pirate weapon images and die-cut tabs to hold a lollipop. Each has "Chapter" story text and illustration w/titles: Treasure Island Located, The Treasure Found, Stolen Plunder, Captured, Walking The Plank, Bringing Back The Treasure." At lower right is a "Treasure Stamp" and these are numbered 1-6. Stamp text notes a series of 25 cards were to be collected, stamps then cut out and returned for a "Beautiful Treasure." We have never seen any of these before, nor could we find any information on them, and quite possibly there were the only six made, never the full set of 25. This company was established in the late 1800s and went bankrupt in the 1930s. Cards have lt. wear/aging and slight warp due to their size. All remain clean overall w/great art and neat design. EX overall. A true rarity.
