Item Description
2.5x 3.75". The 1955 Bowman set consists of 320 cards. This was the company's final baseball entry, and each card was styled after a color television set as a boldly colored, horizontally placed player image was surrounded with a faux wood-grained border.

Donald Newcombe, nicknamed "Newk", was an American professional baseball pitcher who played ten non-consecutive seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He began his career in the Negro National League and ended it in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Some of his career highlights include being a four time All-Star, MVP and Cy Young award winner in 1956, Rookie Of The Year in 1949 and a World Series Champion in 1955. The autograph on the card is bold and has decent placement only partially impeding the image. This signed copy is the only example graded by PSA at this level with only two others ever graded higher.
