Item Description
8.5x11" sheet of personal stationery for Dick Calkins with small printed illustrations in green including his address at top left corner done on a wood sign with crow on top while bottom middle margin has image of Buck Rogers flying through space firing space guns. Hand-written in black fountain pen ink is dated Nov. 5, 1946. Letter contents include "Thank-You For Recent Visit. You Didn't Find My Fountain Pen Kicking Around, Did You? I Can't Hang On To The Damn Thing." Signed "Dick" and he also added a hand-drawn caricature cartoon at top and bottom word balloon from Buck reading "To Babs And Tommy" (niece and nephew). Dick's wife Margaret has added a message in blue ink at lower left corner including a PS: "I Will Return Your Book With The Buck Rogers Pistol." Letter is folded as mailed and has light scattered margin wear from mailing. Lower left-hand corner area has faint trace of moisture staining with light tanning. This caused very slight bleed of the inked message by Margaret covering an area 1.5x2.5" but all lettering remains sharp and legible. Fine and very displayable. See following item #2325.
