Item Description
16x21” frame contains lithograph that has been matted to 8x12”. Lake Gregory, known as an illustrator, illustrating over 20 books and magazines and exhibited her work at the National Academy Of Design, The Museum Of Modern Art and The Art Institute Of Chicago, winning many awards and prizes. Her work is displayed to this day in The Boston Museum Of Fine Art and The Library Of Congress in Washington, DC. Her work for “Alice In Wonderland” is shown here, showing Alice following The White Rabbit down the rabbit hole, 3 anthropomorphic sleeping books on a shelf above the table holding the key and bottle with “Drink Me” label. Piece is entitled “Down The Rabbit Hole” and has been signed by Gregory in pencil. c. 1940s. Lightly aged but Exc. display. Superb signed litho. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
