21x36.5” overall. 19x34.5” image area. ©1933 by S.M. Stanley Co. Publishers. Nicely illustrated map of Manhattan with 26 vignettes on side margins. Illustrations on map designate major streets/avenues with appropriate illustrations. Examples include: Empire State Building, Public Library, Grand Central Terminal, Chrysler Building, Pennsylvania Railroad, Theodore Roosevelt’s Birthplace, Alfred E. Smith Birthplace, Washington Inaugurated 1789, Holland Tunnel, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall, Central Park, Harlem scence, Polo Grounds, Yankee Stadium etc. Upper right has inset devoted to “Continuation Of Manhattan Island Above 168 St.” Features Washington Bridge, Zoological Gardens, Botanical Gardens, etc. Side vignettes include: Statue of Liberty, First White House, Flatiron Building, New Amsterdam-About 1650, First New York Stock Exchange, Canal St, The Subway, New York To Paris-Chas. Lindbergh, Greenwich Village, Ellis Island, Times Square, etc. Ships are identified in the harbor and include: Bremen, Clermont 1807, Western World, Half Moon-1609, Majestic, Manhattan, etc. Notation at bottom right reads “Designed by CEMILLARD.” Displayed in original frame. Close inspection shows tiny crazing likely due to map being lacquered before being framed, resulting in even aging of the map. Not offensive. Overall VF.
