Item Description
6.5x7.75”. Ruth was first base coach only during the 1938 season. He quit at end of the season and this coaching position was his last job in Major League Baseball. Images of Ruth in Dodgers uniform are rare. He approaches two other Dodgers (including #29 Tom Winsett) and two umpires. One Dodger player has visible shirt sleeve with 1939 New York World’s Fair Trylon and Perisphere patch promoting the upcoming fair that opened 4/30/39. Reverse has various markings including “Wide World Photos, Inc.” Some paper residue on reverse and minor handling wear. Photo remains glossy and Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
