Item Description
8x10”. Photo is of Tinker in unform standing next to J. W. King. Back of photo boldly signed in blue ink “Harold ‘Hooks’ Tinker” with matching inked message above this also appears to be in Tinker’s hand stating “J.W. King Owner Of Team Prior To Gus Greenlee.” This notation dates the photo to 1929. Outside of his accomplishments as a player, he is probably more famous for being the man who discovered Josh Gibson. Moderate scattered margin wear with some creases. Reverse has noticeable aging, dust soiling and some pencil scribbling although inked text and signature not really affected. VG. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
