Item Description
Three items c. 1930s. 5x8" semigloss photo with nice image of Kid Chocolate facing viewer in boxing attire has nice blue fountain pen inscription in Spanish signed Kid Chocolate. Text at bottom has Chocolate's real name "Eligio Sardinas" and calls him "World's Greatest Boxer". Photo is a bit yellowed with age and is missing a few tiny dots of color on his face and shoulders. Fine. Scorecard folder is 4.5x9" in Spanish for fight held Nov. 30, 1935 against Pelon Guerra and opens to 13.25" wide with several text ads. Chocolate won the fight in the third round by knockout. Folder has some dust soiling and a few moisture marks with 1" seam split at bottom. VG. Promotional photo is 4.25x6.5" glossy showing Chocolate in fight gear including Everlast trunks. Photo has yellowed with age but still VF. Nice group for fighter who was Junior Lightweight Champion from 1931-1933 and the NY World Featherweight Champion from 1932-1934. He won a total of 131 bouts, losing 9 and 6 draws. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
