3.5x5.5" showing Charles Comiskey with 22 players ©1906 by George Lawrence Chicago. Card has been postally used, postmarked Oct. 8th and addressed to recipient in Cleveland. Bottom of front has ink text "Compliments Of Geo. W Bischoft." Card has some lt. dust soil and corners are a bit rounded with .75" diagonal crease at lower right. VG. The White Sox played the Cubs in the 1906 World Series and were nicknamed "The Hitless Wonders" but they defeated the Cubs in 6 games to capture the first World Championship in their franchise's history. A later version of this card was issued which had text added and read across top "World's Champions-1906". Nice image and historical. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
