Item Description
9.5x12.25x12" tall wood cabinet with four wheels is ©1931 by Hoffman Beverage. All four sides have 2.25" tall applied paper strip on outside showing various young couples kissing and drinking in moonlight. Inside of lid has additional paper label titled "Hoffman Party Wagon" showing well-dressed young people using ladder to get drinks from huge fizzing glass. Art is not signed by Held but there is no doubt that it's his work. Contains original plain cardboard insert along with die-cut wood in bottom for accessories. Applied strip label on outside has scattered wear with a few missing pieces at corners and some fade. Overall VG. Interior label is Fine. Inside and outside finish appear original. Top hinge is a bit loose on front and wood on lid top has some splits and paint loose. Scattered wear around sides. Overall outside Good, Inside Fine/VF. 1938 Schenley drink guide in Fair condition and illustrated by Held comes along. Despite problems, still a wonderful John Held item. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
