Item Description
17-7/8x26" unfinished wood frame has archival mat revealing 10.25x18.5" glossy photo of 32-member team in uniform along with management, coaches and bat boy at side of grandstands. Photo is by Sunset Camera Shop Clearwater, Fla. Photo has date of March 1925 and includes players' last names in white text in foreground area. Players of note shown in photo are Dazzy Vance and Zach Wheat. Photo has trace of light dust soil, most evident across bottom edge which obscures a few text letters and has bit of light wrinkling. Fine as framed. The Brooklyn Robins eventually became the Brooklyn Dodgers. The year this photo was taken majority owner and team president Charles Ebbets got sick after returning home from spring training and died on the morning of April 18. Ed McKeever took over as president, but he caught a cold at Ebbets's funeral and died within a week of pneumonia. Stephen McKeever became the principal owner, and team manager Wilbert Robinson was additionally given the position of president. A strong glossy image ready for display.
