Item Description
1.75x2.75" candy card from the set of 144 featuring players from the Pacific Coast League. Superb photo front, blank back. He is shown in his Sacramento Senators uniform. A key card in the set. He pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1921 until 1922 and was the first full-blooded American Indian to have played in the Major Leagues. Over his two year stay with the Pirates, Yellowhorse was used primarily as a reliever and compiled a record of eight wins and four losses. He went on to play Minor League baseball due to repeated arm injures. He pitched the final game of his professional career on May 1, 1926. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
